Zentangle
Artist Statement-
For my artwork, I decided to work on a snake decorated with many overwhelming patterns to symbolize the character of a snake. Since snakes are considered vicious to many people, I tried to use curves and zig zags to emphasize the energy of the animal. In the piece I also made basic shapes and organic shapes which I filled in with zentangle patterns in each empty space in the snake. The big idea behind my artwork was to express my favorite animal/ reptile to the viewers. I wanted to show the beauty of this animal that most commonly experiences bad impressions. My goal was to finish a piece that was meaningful to me and to see my artwork come together as a whole. I wanted to test my creativity and patients as an artist which I exceeded in doing so with this project since there were many details that had to be done. With this piece, I learned that there needed to be an open imagination for the patterns and designs used for the zentangle. Overall, my final artwork turned out better than I imagined because I thought I wouldn't have had enough time and patience that I did have.
